1. Information Collected & Retention Schedule
DM Shop Marketplace collects information necessary to process orders, manage vendor relationships, provide customer service, and maintain legal and financial records.
Information collected may include:
Buyer Identifiers: Name, shipping address, billing address, email address, and phone number.
Payment Information: Payment tokens and transaction-related information processed through authorized third-party payment processors.
Custom Artwork Files: Graphics, logos, images, and other files uploaded by customers for customized products.
Vendor Tax Data: Information required for vendor tax reporting and IRS Form 1099 compliance.
Device Interaction Data: Information related to device and website interactions used to operate, secure, and improve the marketplace.
Retention Policy
DM Shop Marketplace maintains information according to the following retention practices:
Financial and tax records: Retained for 5 years in accordance with applicable Illinois legal requirements.
Uploaded custom design files: Retained in temporary (“scratch”) storage for 90 days to facilitate potential re-orders. After this period, the files are purged from scratch storage.
Retention periods may be extended when necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent fraud, or protect the rights and security of the Company and its users.
2. Data Sharing & Security Safeguards
DM Shop Marketplace shares customer and transaction information only as necessary to operate the marketplace and fulfill orders.
Information may be shared with:
Payment processors to authorize and process payments.
Shipping carriers to deliver purchased products.
Fulfillment vendors to manufacture, prepare, and fulfill applicable orders.
No Sale of Customer Data
We DO NOT sell customer data.
Information is shared only as reasonably necessary to process transactions, fulfill orders, provide requested services, maintain marketplace operations, comply with applicable legal requirements, or protect the security and integrity of the platform.
Security Safeguards
DM Shop Marketplace uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
Security measures include:
SSL encryption for applicable website communications and transactions.
Multi-factor authentication for vendor accounts and access.
Security practices designed to support compliance with applicable Illinois data-breach notification requirements, including the Illinois Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), 815 ILCS 530.
No method of transmitting or storing information can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Accordingly, while reasonable safeguards are maintained, absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
